**USPS has confirmed they are experiencing delays, backlogs, and interruptions in several areas due to seasonal high volume.**
A few "good to know" tidbits about packages:
Tracking numbers can take time to update with movement. They may not receive a scan until they reach the distribution center, destination post office and some packages even deliver before any updates occur on the tracking number at all. (The latter is more rare.) If your package is marked as delivered and you don't see it, check with your neighbors to ensure it wasn't delivered to them by mistake. If this fails, contact the carrier as soon as possible. USPS, for example, can have the driver retrace their steps and verify where the package was delivered. They also keep a record of the exact location the package was scanned. They can advise you of the best steps to take in the case of a lost package.
